چکیده

یکی از نگرانی‌های قدیمی بازار کار، جانشینی نیروی کار با روبات‌ها و اتوماسیون بوده و بسیاری از افراد، رشد نوآوری و فناوری را متناسب با افزایش بیکاری دانسته‌اند. برخی از محققان تاثیرپذیری اشتغال از افزایش رشد فناوری را منوط به دامنه و عمق بازارها دانسته‌اند. شواهد موجود نشان می‌دهد تاثیرپذیری اشتغال از نوآوری و فناوری وابسته به قدرت رقابت جهانی کشورها و کیفیت نیروی کار آن‌ها است. از آنجا که شاخص پیچیدگی اقتصادی، هم صادرات و هم‌ سطح دانش موجود در اقتصادها را می‌سنجد، می‌تواند گزینه مناسبی برای در نظر گرفتن دامنه بازارها به‌حساب آید.پژوهش حاضر به بررسی اثر پیچیدگی اقتصادی بر بیکاری با کنترل کردن اثر تولید ناخالص داخلی و تورم پرداخته و این پرسش را مطرح می‌کند که آیا سطحی از نوآوری وجود دارد که تعیین‌کننده نوع ارتباط میان پیچیدگی اقتصادی و بیکاری باشد. برای این منظور از رگرسیون آستانه‌ای در پنلی از کشورها در بازه زمانی 2017-2008 استفاده ‌شده است. یافته‌ها از غیرخطی بودن رابطه میان پیچیدگی اقتصادی و بیکاری حکایت دارد و شواهدی مبتنی بر جانشینی نیروی کار توسط فناوری هنگامی‌که شاخص نوآوری در بازه (493/0 ,456/0[ قرار دارد به‌دست‌آمده است.
